Tuesday, 10 January 2012 - NEWS NEWS NEWS NEWS!
So 2011 has passed us by. Some stuff happened: the band got back together, Trent got married, we played a few gigs and have had a line-up change.

Replacing TomV on drums is Will from "Take Your Own" and probably some other insignificant bands no one knows about :)

We had some good times with Tom and wish him well in his future ventures. As for CTFU, it's writting time. We've been working on some new songs with the aim of having a new set ready for some shows late first quarter of 2012.

We've put our track up on a "mix tape" to help the ACEH punks in Indonesia who have been getting "re-educated". Fuck religion, and fuck governments everywhere.

Please help the Indo punks and provide whatever support you can!

Tuesday, 31 May 2011 - We're Back Baby!!!!
First show in almost 2 years and it felt like we had never even left the stage.

Had Will from Take Your Own fill in on drums while Tom was in Tassie and he did a most awesome job. We'd had only one practise with him a week before, and only one full practise with the full lineup about a month and a half before that!

Still need to iron out some of the crinkles but we pulled of a pretty good show with one of the biggest crowds we've played too.

Thanks again to Will for filling in, and we'll see you all at our next show!

The CD's have arrived and you can now purchase "How to Burn Everything" from various independant record stores throughout Australia...

Well, so far just from fist2face (Ringwood VIC) & Platos (Frankston VIC), but if you want a copy and can't get to one of these stores this weekend or just can't wait for it to come to a store near you, go to the Contact Us page and email us!!!!

The album will also be available from (next week):
- Missing Link
- Red Eye Records
- various Leading Edge stores
and more to come shortly...

You will also be able to buy the album from the iTunes music store in about 2 weeks, however you wont get any of the awsome artwork that comes with the CD, and you wont get the cover of Bette Davis Eyes. You will however get 15 awsome tracks of punk goodness in digital format.

We will be playing our first official Launch Show at the Arthouse on Friday the 13th of March, more details to come.

Wednesday, 14 January 2009 - How to Burn Everything
Our full length is going to print within days!!! iMMi has done a kick ass job on the album cover, with thanks to Joel for the artwork, and anyone who contributed to photographs throughout the past year.

We don't yet have a planned release date, but it will be soon.

Monday, 15 December 2008 - Recording 2 new songs
We are in the process of recording two new songs, why? I don't know cause we still haven't got the first recording finished and available at Kmart, Sanity, Virgin, Big W or any other major music retailer. We've been having trouble with the delivery of the life-size cardboard cut-outs for the the store displays...

Actually, the real reason is coz Tom is doing his sound engineering course, and part of his assessment is to record and mix some{one/thing/band} and Tom offered our services to the rest of his class.

I spent half of the time in the bathroom delivering the cheese burgers I had previously acquired, from my mouth to the porcelein bowl in front of me. Semi-digested cheese burgers still smell just like cheeseburgers. At that point, I was wondering why I eat cheeseburgers.

I finished recording my parts and told the others I was going home, so I jumped in my car reversed out of the parking spot, opened my door and threw up on the street. I travelled about 200 meters to the end of the street where I continued expel the contents of my stomach on to the street.

We are playing NYE at SeaSpray (somewhere on the east coast of VIC).... come along, maybe you'll see me spew.

Friday, 29 August 2008 - news update
We had to pull out of our set at the Tote last sunday due to Tom contracting a all sorts of STDs while he was in Tassie with Andrew Swift.

We've had quite a few weeks off which has given me some time to write some new songs. Unfortunately I didn't use this time very well and haven't written even one entire song. There are definately some things brewing in the Common Thread kitchen though.

Work is still being done to the full-length. We all need to learn how to sing.

Monday, 23 June 2008 - Common Thread on 1700 (SynTV)
We will be appearing on Channel 31's 1700 music TV show for an interview and the release of the Hit the Bottom video clip. Make sure you tune in if you can get channel 31 on tuesday 1st July at 5pm.

We're playing with Talk Show Host this saturday night at the Ding Dong lounge plus a heap of other shows coming up over the next 2 months, then Toms off on tour with Andrew Swift through September so the rest of us will be having a bit of a rest.

Monday, 26 May 2008 - 'How to Burn Everything' Pre-Release E.P.
We have decided to cut a few tracks from our upcoming album 'How to Burn Everything' to an E.P. and release it this friday as the 'Hit the Bottom E.P.' at our Barleycorn Hotel show with Andrew Swift, No Credit and Drive By Epic.

The gig kicks off at 9:00pm after the 2AM protest!

This is a limited edition release that will be available for a short time only. The E.P. is full DIY (recording, producing, mastering and printing) and will only be doing a small run initially. We will be giving away a few copies at the gig so get in quick to get one free otherwise you'll have to fork out a measly $5.

Purchase of the E.P. entitles you to one free** dinner date to a venue of your chosing with Common Thread front man Matty Bubbles, however, we suggest you don't take us up on this once in a life-time offer as Matty may drug himself in the hope that you will rape him.

Oh, and Tom is playing in 2 bands that night, so come give him shit before his head gets too big!

*conditions of entry:
winner of the competition has to pay for both their own and matts meals and drinks.

Thursday, 22 May 2008 - More Shows!!!!!
We've just picked up another gig on Friday 6th of July playing at the Espy with a bunch of ska dudes from NZ and some punks in QLD...

Hope to see you there!

There is some news floating about that Tassies Ballpoint will be heading to Melbourne sometime in August which we will be supporting at least one if not all of their gigs here...
